Welcome to the Flint Montessori Program

Flint has free, public Montessori education.

Montessori is a learning method that can be used throughout early childhood, elementary and secondary school.  Families in Flint, MI now have access to a free, public choice to for Montessori education in pre-kindergarten and elementary school through the Flint Community Schools Montessori program at Durant Tuuri Mott. 

Whether your family already knows and loves Montessori education or whether you are curious about an option for school that offers hands-on learning, and freedom of choice (within limits), this is a resource for you to learn more about Montessori education in Flint.

What We Mean by "Public Montessori"

Montessori for Flint has worked with Flint Community schools to define precisely what that means for the Flint Montessori program.  Please review our "Program Expectations for Montessori Classrooms" to learn more.
Apply Now for the  2021-22 Kindergarten-5th grade Montessori Program
To be eligible for the elementary program, students must be at least 5 years old by December 1, 2021 and live in Genesee County.  (Current Flint Montessori students do not need to re-apply.) Applications received before May 1 will be considered first.  Applications received after May 1 will be considered based on availability.
